The
Quantico Growth Management Committee
The Quantico Growth Management Committee is a regional group that formed in 2005 in response to the defense related growth at the Quantico Marine Corps Base. The Committee is currently made up of members from Prince William and Stafford Counties’ Boards of Supervisors, a liaison from the Quantico Marine Corps Base, and several staff members. The Committee’s purpose is to identify, assess, and address any issues or concerns associated with the growth from Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC).
Since forming, the Committee was awarded a grant from the Department of Defense through the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) which allowed the Committee to further their collaborative efforts.
In 2007, the Draft Environmental Impact Statement was released from the MCB Quantico and the Committee worked to draft a response to the DEIS. Since that time the Committee identified their foremost concerns related to BRAC created an action plan which assess the objectives of the Committee and created a road map on how to reach these goals.
