Aquia Creek LandingHistory buff ? We hope so! Welcome to the Quantico region, home to the Manassas National Battlefield Park, George Washington's Boyhood Home, and many historic towns with 18th century architecture! Try going off the beaten path to discover the Aquia Creek Landing, site of a civil war skirmish, and recently designated as a contributing site on the Underground Railroad Network to Freedom.

If you head north you might want to stop in to the Weems-Botts Museum which features information on the Historic Town of Dumfries as well as information on Mason Lock Weems, and Benjamin Botts. Heard of George Washington and the cherry tree? If so, Weems' literature made its way to you; Weems wrote the first biography of George Washington.

If you are in need of a real adventure, you may want to explore the Town of Buckland, a little treasure hidden in the northern side of Prince William County. The Town of Buckland is a completely preserved example of an 18th century mill town in Virginia, and unsurpassed in its authenticity.

If you enjoy art and 19th century architecture do not miss Gari Melchers' Home and Studio where you will find both a collection of some of Melchers' most renowned pieces, as well as a tour of his estate.
