BRAC at Fort Belvoir
BRAC at Ft. BelvoirFort Belvoir
receives approximately 19,300 new jobs due to BRAC. A new facility for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency is under construction at the Engineering Proving Grounds, a site west of I-95 in Fairfax County at the Fairfax County Parkway. Concurrent to this construction, the Fairfax County Parkway is being extended from Rolling Road to I-95 to provide additional access for the workers who will move here as part of BRAC, and for greater circulation for the public in general. A new hospital is being built on Main Post, and will take some of the missions from the closing of Walter Reed. The BRAC 133 building is being erected in the City of Alexandria, at I-95 and the Seminary Road intersection. Other smaller projects are also ongoing on Main Post. BRAC construction is also taking place at Rivanna Station, a part of Fort Belvoir located near Charlottesville.

Fort Belvoir has created Belvoir New Vision Planners to carry out BRAC and master-planning related activities. Check out their newsletter with monthly updates about BRAC at Fort Belvoir.
